When we first laid eyes on the menacing machine back in February in the build at Profab Motorsport Fabrications, we've been hanging to see it all finished up and ready to tear up the drag strip. Well boy and girls, we're excited to say that time has finally come!
This Capri on steroids is looking super-fine with a fresh coat of paint, the subtle silver tone highlighted by the classic fluro orange GT strip.
Just looking at this thing and how it sits with it's massive MT slicks on the back tucked nicely under the wheel arch you know it means business even without seeing under the hood...
Inside the cabin it's all business. Although there's a lot going on in here the layout and execution of the install of the various components, both electrical and mechanically related is so neat it's crazy! You can tell the guys that have done the work know what they're doing.
Everything has it's place and is within easy reach so as to make things as hassle free as possible when it's game time on race day. The boys have Enzo at Regional Electronics to thank for the wiring up the car and all the gizmos inside like the Fueltech ECU, AMS1000 boost controller, Bump Box & Shift Controller.
Under the hood live an angry 420-cube Clevor pieced together by the guys at Dandy Engines with all the fruit. No doubt a staunch package on its own it gets even better when it's fed some boost from the larger-than-life Precision 101 turbo taking pride of place at the front of the bay.
Out back the giant 32x14" Mickey Thompson steam rollers take up most of the real estate, a beefy sheet metal 9"diff squeezed in between along with a set of Strange double adjustable coilovers, custom anti roll bar, wishbone and all the other trick bits to help her motor down the track as straight and quick as possible.
The boys were meant to be taking the car out to Sydney Dragway Tomorrow for some shakedown passes but the weather looks like it might push them back until later in the week. The goal is to have the car settled and sorted for the upcoming APSA Shootout which is on next Saturday week where Carl Cox himself will jump in the drivers seat for a few passes.
We'd like to thanks Joe and Jonathon at Profab for allowing us to jump in and grab a few shots of the car today whilst they're under the pump prepping cars for the Shootout. We'll keep you posted on how the car goes but for now be sure to head over to the 'Builds & Projects' page HERE to check out a few more snaps of this awesome car!
