As we wind up yet another year we're often kept busy with last minute Xmas shopping, preparing for the big day and the short break from work if you're lucky enough to get it. What we don't often think about is those who have got it tough and will really be feeling it at this time of year.
It's quite easy to take a lot of things for granted but one thing's for certain, when it comes to helping those in need, car enthusiasts are always willing to put their hands up to help.
Being the last Monthly Meet for the year we wanted to do something special. So this year, after speaking with the guys from Killer Rides it was decided that we would get together and combine the Killer Rides Toy Run with the IMCC Monthly Meet, based on the desire to achieve the best outcome possible.
Thankfully the weather was on our side this month and we had another great turnout of cars and enthusiastic people and families coming down to check it all out. As a result of plenty of online promotion as well as a bit of radio time by Killer Rides head honcho, Paul Beck and the i98 team, Xmas gift donations came in thick and fast which will be passed onto needy children in the area.
ven the jolly man in red dropped by to help out with the presents, whilst also taking time out for some happy snaps with some very excited little ones.
he atmosphere was awesome this month and a great pick me up after we were rained out in November. Several new and exciting rides parked up including this wicked trio of lowriders which you'll be seeing a lot more of in the coming months when we get them together for a shoot.
Having a nice mix of old and new on show is something we're really proud of, being that we give everyone the opportunity to get involved, no matter what style of machine you're into. We feel this best represents the car scene today.
As with the last few meets, this month saw a large number of Subarus in attendance, the group one of our most dedicated to the meets; always coming out in force, rain or shine.
There was plenty of muscle scattered around the venue as always, including a few show-stoppers that had jaws dropping as they rolled in.
Also lending a hand on the night was the lovely team from the Sweet-As Lolly Shop who not only gave out plenty of freebies and samples to kiddies but also assisted us with distributing the IMCC stickers raising money for Beyond Blue.
After a night of catching up with friends and enjoying the sites and sounds it was great to be able to look back at all that we'd achieved, not only on the night, but this last year; helping to breath life back into the local car scene...
I think we can all agree that it's been a looong time since modified car owners and enthusiasts have had it this good and we're extremely proud to have been part of the revival.
The more meets, events and cruises we can do to help boost the profile of the true car enthusiasts of this region, and indeed the whole of the country, the better.
On behalf of the IMCC and the Killer Rides team we thank everyone who attended this months meet as well as those throughout the year. Bring on an even bigger 2016!!
