A little bit of water never hurt anyone and it certainly didn't stop enthusiasts from turning up to this months Bunnings Monthly Meet.
Around 50 cars filled the Bunnings carpark in Warrawong, everything from Ratted-out trucks to Imports, Aussie Muscle, Jap performance cars rocking up and we even had some high-end exotic flavour join in on the fun this month, something that's been missing at previous meets.
Thankfully early on the rain was only light and periodic so it gave everyone the chance to walk around and check out the cars on show.
We saw quite a few new faces around the place this month with some very clean cars indeed including Ben and his immaculate '87 Mitsubishi Cordia.
An iconic and popular model back in the day yet a VERY rare sight on the roads today, Ben's example is as clean as the day it rolled off the showroom floor.
The car has also got a nice story behind it too which you'll all be able to read up on when we do a feature on the car for the website in the next few weeks.
Another stunner of the meet was Franco's newly-finished KE30 Corolla. Now here is a car that quite simply, just works! From the colour choice, old school 15 inch Simmons and pristine original interior to the tidy 13BT rotary engine conversion, it just screams style, form and function in our opinion.
Owner/operator of Leisure Coast Automotive in Warilla, Franco frequently has his hands on some tough cars and we'll be heading out that way real soon to check out what he's got on at the moment as well as organising a feature shoot on this awesome little Corolla, so stay tuned for that!
While for the majority of the time the slight dampness didn't bother people, after about an hour the rain looked to set in for good but rather than calling it a night, the decision was made to move the show across the road to the Westfields undercover carpark.
As a secondary location the undercover area is not the most ideal place for a car meet but what it does do is allow us to continue the meet, hand out and chat about life, cars, politics and all the other cool stuff like that...
This month's meet may not have been as big as the last shindig but the turnout was still awesome despite the less than ideal weather which is really great to see. From the IMCC team, thank you to all those who attended the meet, either in your car or just to come down for a look. Your support is very much appreciated! Also a big thanks to Cleanaway for supplying the bins and of course Westfield Warrawong for allowing us use of the venues.
Fingers crossed we have some better luck with the weather in March, guess all we can do is keep our fingers and toes crossed and see how it pans out.
