As a result of the selfish behavior of a few idiotic car owners seen at this past weekend's Monthly Meet, new steps are now being taken by the those involved with the IMCC as well as many of the regular attendees of our Monthly Meets to stamp-out hoon behavior during these events.
Over the past eight months while the IMCC has been involved with these meets we have seen great things happen and we have worked hard to turn the tide on the modified car scene in the area.
We believe that we're now at a point where these gatherings are seen by the general community as a positive thing, rather than a nuisance and we're not going to let the selfish behavior of a few idiots jeopardise that.
Moving forward we will be working with the local area command to better deter such behavior as was seen on Saturday night and there will now be increased patrols as well as unmarked cars present at the venue.
We're hoping that this, along with our continued action of handing over photos and video footage of any cars seen to be acting in a manner dangerously in and around the venue to the police will serve as a successful deterrent for hoons, both local and from out of town.
We understand that these measures may not be to everyone's liking but we feel that this approach is the best for what we're trying to achieve. Having police presence is not to harass, rather to hopefully prevent further reckless behavior like we saw on Saturday night. Burnouts, speeding, unnecessary engine revving and general hoon behavior is not welcome at these meets.Do the right thing, be respectful towards the venue and others and you won't have a problem.
If you feel you can't help yourself, stay at home or go somewhere else! Don't ruin it for everyone else who's doing the right thing...
