As the second Saturday of the month approached we were a bit on edge with the weather forecasts predicting 30+ degree temps and 85% chance of wet stuff throughout the day. Thankfully for us tho, apart from a bit of wet stuff in the early morning, from 10 onward it was nothing but bright blue skies and that spring warmth we've all be waiting for.
As a result we saw a heap of wicked cars out cruising in the afternoon before we all migrated over to Warrawong Plaza for the meet and come 6:30pm the place was almost chockers.
This month we were joined by the team from Pedders Wollongong who are great supporters of IMCC. Keen to get out to the meets for some time now, the Pedders crew pulled out all the stops, setting up a wicked display with products as well as having Richard Halilovic's immaculate VN Group A on show.
The guys from The People's Truck also had their stall set up which gave people the opportunity to register to have their name displayed on the truck for this year's i98FM Convoy which is on this weekend.
This year we got a collection happening of our own between a few of the guys and we're very proud to have IMCC displayed on The People's Truck.
Throughout the evening as the sun seemingly set over the longest time there was still plenty of tough cars rolling in a smiles everywhere you looked. A sign that we take as evidence we're doing something right.
The quality, the variety and the overall number of cars attending the meets continues to grow which keeps us excited as we're not even in top gear as far as our plans for the future go!
When you've got cars like this out cruising the Illawarra, you've got to be proud to call this place home!
We stand by our statement that this region is home to one of the coolest, most diverse cars scenes in the country and we hope that with encouragement and promotion it will continue to grow and flourish drama free.
While at most of our meets so far we've only had the sound of the cars rolling in and our own voices to listen to, this month Gina stopped by with her FG sound car, decked out with Frankies finest pumping out sweet tunes that really helped create a great atmosphere.
In the end though, the cars are only part of these meets and it's the support from the people who attend provide feedback that help keep things going and that's something we're very grateful for.
Just like the cars, the Illawarra is home to a unique and passionate bunch of people that often move mountains and go the extra mile to support a worth cause so as long as you guys tell us to keep it up, we'll keep on putting in the hard yards for you guys!
