There's no doubt about it, this past few weeks have been some of the coldest we've faced around the Illawarra and while most of us are able to escape the cold, keeping toasty-warm in our heated houses and offices, there are many who don't have this option...Thankfully, our local community are a generous bunch and when given the opportunity to help out, we always do our part and then some!
After the success of last year's Killer Rides 'Winter Warm-up Appeal', the IMCC & Killer Rides teams once again set out to join forces and give a helping hand to the Wollongong Homeless Hub by setting up a collection as part of July's IMCC Monthly Meet at Warrawong Plaza.
As always our Monthly Meet drew a large number of modified cars and enthusiasts to the new roof-top venue which lead to another awesome haul of donations made of warm clothing, blankets and the like which will be distributed to the needy people of the Illawarra.
When it comes to these kind of causes, every little bit helps and as with last year's appeal, the Wollongong Homeless Hub crew were once again overwhelmed with the generosity.
Once everyone had made their donations it was all about enjoying the night catching up with mates and checking out the cars that had rocked-up for the evening.
As always there was a great variety of cars parked up with plenty of old school and late model muscle to cover everyone's tastes.
Thanks to the drama-free, open-to-all approach of these meets we're seeing an increasing number of new cars popping up each meet, not only local but also from out of town.
Add to that the regulars and we're always assured a great display of modified machinery from across all of the popular scenes.
Thanks to the new LED lighting installed by Plaza management in the VIP section of the venue, the area has become quite the hub of activity at these meets. Thankfully the upgrades will continue into the main parking are for next month's meet with the remainder of the lighting being switched over to high-output LEDs.
We certainly cannot thank Warrawong Plaza enough for their support of the IMCC meets and cannot wait to really kick things into high gear once the weather starts to warm up again!
While things may be a bit quiet at the moment, we've got a load of awesome additions planned for the future and with the great support we're receiving from everyone, it's only going to getting bigger and better moving forward.
We look forward to seeing you all next month but until then, you can check out all the snaps from the July IMCC Monthly Meet on the 'Event gallery' page HERE
